light drops off at the bottom, is that sync speed error or did the light fall off?

The lighting for this shot, was an AB 1600 in a 84" PLM (white w/o diffusion sock) directly above, large reflector below, a pair of AB 800's in 4'x1' gridded strip boxes behind the subject at approximately a 45 degree angle, and 2 lights on the background.

As far as the "fall off", not really sure, perhaps the reflector was positioned poorly. The shot was taken at "synch speed" of 1/200" with a 5D mk II.

not a sync issue that usually shows a black line.
maybe just light fall off, check the levels with PS. might be able to use the lightening tools.

I know this will sound odd and I hate to say it....but....the fall off on her chest makes it seem as if she has chest hair.

Actually, the solution is an easy crop. The subject in question has kids, and I think that what's being seen here, is a combination of things. A) light fall off, B) the model has a rather large rack, and the tops of her breasts are tanned oddly compared to the rest of her and C) the fall off with her stretch marks, well that works against the image.

Edit: I'm looking at the original CR2 file, and part of the fall off is an artifact from compression, it's not nearly as significant in that file. Thanks for noting and I need to watch that in the future.

WHat triggers are you using, I use RF602's and if I use more than 1/125th then I get a dull edge.

It wont create a solid black line unless you go above 250th, if its close to the sync speed then you get a very slight fall off which looks like that.
