I am about to get the XT and 2 lens (thanks to canon rebates). i want to get the 28-135 and the 70-200 f4. The problem is that I can not find an online retailer that stock the 28-135. I usually get my camera gear from buydig or B&H, but unfortunately they don't have them.

Can you point me or recommend an online retailer that has the 28-135 in stock and have low-prices comaparable to the prices that buydig offer?

Thanks!

I got a Brand NEW, never been used Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens beeing shipped to me from Amazon.com as we speak.
If any of you are interested, I'll let it go for $450 shipped anywhere in the US.
I got excellent feedback on Ebay to proof that I'm an honest seller.
My wife is ready to divorce me since she found out I spend as much as our rent on a new camera and this lens, so I have to let go of it and use my kit lens for now. :(

Since this isn't the marketplace, I think it's alright to say that $450 is quite a bit for this lens. I understand it's "brand new", but still...I sold a pristine used one for $350 shipped. Just my $.02.

btw, menis, if all else fails, Dell has it. There's some coupons for it, too. Look in the marketplace.

For what it's worth I think you'll be disappointed in the 28-135 IS when you compare shots taken with it and with the 70-200 f4. I might look at the 17-85 IS because there is a better range of cover and it dovetails nicely with the 70-200mm, but better optical performance will come with either the Tamron 28-75 2.8 and SIgma 24-70 2.8. These are much faster lenses.

The lowest I can take is $425 shipped or I might as well send it back to Amazon.

Amazon was selling it for $479.99 with free shipping which what I paid before they sold out.
So I figure if any of you guys are interested in these lenses, I got one being shipped to me from Amazon as we speak and I'll let it go for $425 shipped due to financial issues.

Actually they still available at Amazon.com for $479.99 with $15 rebate

got mine for $340 with genuine hood and a tiffen uv filter (which i replaced for a hoya pro1) all brand new. i got it off craigslist.com. met the person up somewhere and made the transfer.

how come so many people dont like this lens? i thought it was supposed to be pretty good? is the construction amd image quality of the 17-85mm any better? it costs about two bills more than the 28-135! but i guess thats because of limited cameras it was designed for? i dont know.

got mine from ABES of Maine... i have used then twice for lenses with no problems..except they try to sell you everything in stock. But, i would definetly call them and not buy over the net. i just dont trust these smaller places haven secure networks in place for web buying.
Craig-
Ps. they even called me back an hour later to verify that i actually placed the order.

Since all the delays re the new 24-105 IS, I've been considering the 28-135 IS but have seen some dreadful test reports about its optical quality and have now completely abandoned any idea of buying one.

I'm now seriously thinking about a Tamron 28-75 f2.8.
