So I'm thinking about renting a 300mm or 400mm lens to shoot fireworks from a distance location.
What do I ask or look for when renting such a lens? How do I protect myself from possible renting a damaged lens, etc.?
Thanks

There are several reputable places to rent lenses from. I'm not going to list them all, but if you search for "lens rental," you'll see the complete list. Most places will require either you carry insurance or buy their insurance to rent such a high-dollar item.

Thanks guys, I am from Washington and will search for location from here (if any).
I just wanted ideas on what to look for when renting out one of these babies. Like renting a car, I would walk around and see if any niches or dings, etc. But very different with renting a lens (1st time)

I assure you, when they send out the lens to you, they will know where every nick and ding is before you even see it. You also might want to check with a local camera shop re: renting, too. It will save you on shipping charges.
