There is a local in my town selling one for $100. He states it works fine which leads me to believe he has the highly sought adapter or an older camera but; since he purchased it used I am hoping converter (still waiting on text back for deatails). Is there still any demand for these lenses where perhaps I could make a few bucks towards the 70-200 L F4 I am wanting?

In short, is there still any resale value on a lens like this?

The two that I found listed on the internet for sale were going for over a $1000. If it is in good condition, I believe that you could sell it for well over $100. If I could find a deal like that, I would buy it in a second and use it on my T90!

If you don't want it tell him I'll do 300$ for my old film cameras. Not a super-sharp lens for modern digital, but relatively lightweight and sought after.

Old zooms with that much of a range of focal lenth were usually pretty crappy.... But I don't know the FD 50-300L in particular, so maybe it's a decent lens. Search eBay to see if you can find any sales, to get some idea of possible resale value.

If it has the Canon FD to EOS/EF converter on it, it is a 1.26X teleconverter too, is extremely rare and often sells for over $1000.

More likely it has a cheap third party FD to EF converter, which are worth next to nothing. They can work pretty well if you take out the optics, but the lens won't be able to focus to infinity. That's often okay with longer teles, that are pretty rarely used to infinity anyway.

When you can find one, they are expensive!

Ok, so it sounds like he may not know what he has then. Going to take a look after work, please please please be what I think it is :) He is getting rid of it to purchase an 18-135 so my hopes are pretty high that he is using it on a digi and not using a crap converter. Still at $100 it should be a pretty easy sale no matter.

Thanks all!
