Well, I ordered mine today with paid standard ship option, but I ended up with streamlite...

Glad to know Adorama is done with streamlite.

I did too!!!!!
It was a free option and a $2.XX

I paid the two and change. Ended up with streamlite.

Well lesson learned. I am not going to choose standard ship option when free shipping is offered.
Either way, I'll end up with Streamlite....

Mine just went out via Streamlite also (despite choosing UPS). I've got to say, I'm pretty disappointed with Adorama not catching this despite earlier orders also being sent out with the wrong carrier. :(

EDIT: yeah, what sigmapi said... what exactly did I pay extra for then?

I usually pay for next-day or 2-day ship option when I buy big sticker items from Adorama so I did not know Adorama selects Streamlite when using paid standard ship option. I know Adorama uses them for free shipping so I wanted to avoid nightmare I had with previous experience dealing with Streamlite (took 2 weeks to get item to Seattle from NY). It is just 3 bucks so I am not going to complain, but this is not good customer experience.

I've contacted CS dept. and got this response. It sounds like if you want to use a specific carrier, you need to place an order via phone and specify carrier.

"Thank you for your inquiry as to why this specific carrier was chosen for your package.

We use a wide variety of carriers, FedEx, UPS, Streamlite, USPS, MessengerForYou, Manna, and more. When an order is placed online, the carrier is selected by the shipping department at the time when the order ships out. There are a variety of determining factors; item weight, item size, item value, delivery location, delivery speed requested. When the order is picked up by the carrier, we provide them with the time frame. While they often deliver faster than expected; a package is still “on time” as long as it is delivered within the time frame selected on your checkout page.

For future orders, if you would like a specific carrier selected please place the order over the phone with a salesman by emailing sales@adorama.com (external link) or by calling 800-223-2500. A specific carrier can be requested and the salesman will manually select this carrier."

Secondly Adorama is cheaper than B&H with the 3% back at mr rebate
Third I am no huge rush.

I am sure I will get my $2.95 back. I still saved more money going with adorama ;)

Also went through Mr Rebate for the 3% back. Also got the streamlite thing. Hopefully it will come soon as I just received my 7D from amazon yesterday.

The mail came and I just got the package from Adorama. I formatted the CF and now I have 4x the space (was using a 4GB Lexar that I had sitting around for a couple years). I buffer seems to clear faster with this card (using Raw+jpeg). Maybe I should just shoot Raw.

Sigma pi, yes I started reading the manual to see the differences between the 7D and my T2i that I upgraded from.

See! paying the extra $3 makes a huge differences. My shipment was accepted by USPS on 7/2 and I ordered on 6/28. Four more days until I get my order, but it's free shipping.
