B&H now has it in stock . Who's getting one ? I think I'm just keeping my non-OS . I might change my mind if this one blows the old version away . But I have my doubts ..........

Oh, that's one tempting looking lens. I loved my 100L, but felt it was too close in range to my 85. Loved the 135L, but didn't like the lack of image stabilization in a lens of that length. Definitely something to consider...

Did the price of the Sigma 85 1.4 fall after the initial release? I know prices for the 70-200 OS dropped pretty dramatically, so I'm wondering if the price for this 150 will drop, too.

It's about the same price as the Canon 100mm IS macro , so I doubt it . But who knows for sure ..........

I'm getting one!

At some point soon - just going to check the UK stock situation and then - put up my old for sale (anyone in the UK after a regular 150mm keep watching!)

Sadly I probably won't be able to afford it, even with the sale of the old, until July - but still! :)

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

If someone wanted to buy the new version , they could send it to me and I'll do it .

But I'm old and slow , so it might take a couple of months before I could get the lens back to them :D

tempting... if the price drops just a bit more like the 85, then Ide be considerably more tempted.

Darn ! I was waiting on you to do the test !

I also have been waiting to see this OS versions performance and like CountryBoy mentioned if it excels like the non-OS it will be very tempting to use it on the 5D MKII for portraits besides just macro. Plus its lighter then hauling around the 70-200MKII with extension tubes ! :p

The old one is a sharp lens no doubt:

 ... I am surprised, I never heard it could be so sharp ! .. with a 3 or 4 stops OS and a macro like feature, it should be a real alternative to the "too basic" 135L2.0.

 Just, how can we trust sigma's "so often erratic"'s AF  . Is there any lens made by sigma with a fast and accurate "Canon like" AF ?

Yes , both my Sigma 50-150mm and 100-300mm are fast and accurate.

My 150mm non-OS is very accurate also. I would not call it slow , but it's not as fast as my other 2 Sigma lens . It does have a limit switch which helps. But , yes it is very sharp.

Now my 50mm 2.8 is very sharp also , but rather slow in the Af department.

I see there is no date for the new 105 macro yet.
