i was trying to shoot monochrome portraits for my brother. we were sitting in a dark garage with only one continuous light, i had the idea to put the lamp next to him and shoot with my 50mm 1.8

i am new DSLR user (600D) i would really appreciate your comments and recommendations, keen to learn more about portrait and especially BW :)

These look great. Crop and composition works! Its nice to see good lighting without using expensive strobes.

Can you take my picture on some railroad tracks?! No, that's illegal now. I'm really sorry.

These have a great mood to em. Reminds me of a private eye detective from the speak easy era. Good work with using what you have and not having to rely on exspensive equipment to get an awesome shot. I'm sure your brother was pleased with the shot as well.

"A great photographer can take great shots with an Iphone but a mediocre photographer can ruin a shot with a 1dsmkIV. My camera is like the brush I paint a house with...I'm just looking for my detail brush, and a roller, and some high gloss paint, and a sprayer, yeah a sprayer would make things easier."

when i was in art school everyone was too gentle with their critiques and sensitive to criticism. if you are truly into learning then you'll respect an honest opinion or reaction to work and learn from the process. i believe a good critique is paramount to learning.

I dont believe i have ever come after someone personally and if i have sorry not my intent

I'm just saying I never see you straight out compliment someone, was just saying I'm shocked.
