I have question about 3rd party Elinchrom speed rings.

Why don't these rings have screws to tighten the metal rods?

How am I suppose to attach metal rods to other softboxes ?

Theres two components to normal speedrings.

An outer metal ring that has holes for the soft-boxes metal rods to slip inside of, and an inner ring thats specific to each brand of flash that fits into the Flash head itself.

When you mention elinchrom specific speedrings, you are talking only about the inner metal ring that fits to the flash, with no connection to the softboxe's metal rods.

The only execption are the rotalux types which feature a different sort of speedring entirely made for elinchrom and are made to help set-up modifiers like umbrellas, or nearly like anyways.

As it is, your question is not specific enough to be able to help you in any way, i hope my clarification helps you to narrow down your exact problem.

Unless you're using the Speed Pro bracket, you don't use a speed ring for the beauty dish. The dish requires an insert (speed ring insert) to be mounted to the back, flat side. The insert is the component that has the actual Elinchrom bayonet.
