all shot with a Canon XS with stock lens it came with. ISO 100 or 200 in all these pictures. shot in RAW and used photoshot to edit these. I would like CC in composition mainly, but anything else is still works!

The compositions are interesting to me. They stray away from the beaten path. Can't really complain too much about them at all really. The skin tones kind of bother me (I saw them first in Chrome and then in Firefox, still kinda bug me).

I like the first one. Very creative. The rest don't do anything for me.

To me fine art photography should tell a story and be compelling.
#1 does this for me because it's like the glasses have life with the reflections
#2 does nothing for me other than telling someone is playing some sort of game with a ball
#3 is merely a snapshot of a backyard
#4 would be much better if the flowers were isolated from the distracting background and that background was something other than a blown out sky.
#5 has a bit more potential and I think I know what you saw in the backlit leaves. But there's too much other distracting things around the leaves. Perhaps a tighter crop or better yet a tighter crop when shooting. To me this is all about the details in the leaves.
#6 has more promise. It's telling me there's a familiar object stepping into something. But that something is not interesting IMO. Less DoF would have helped make the background less distracting.
#7 Juist a snapshot of a car IMO. The background is very distracting taking away from your subject...the car.
#8 does nothing for me because of the background with an obviously photoshopped TV screen. If you crop out everything above the flooring, it has a much more dramatic influence on the viewer.

So overall I like your use of foreground elements that lead the eye in to the image. But in many cases the background kills the shot.

Heya Google

I love the first shot, nice and sharp, and an interesting self portrait!

The ones inbetween, I agree with George above, Ilove where you where going with that leaf, but it did need a tighter crop without the distractions :)
In the car photo, is that your sneakers hanging up in the back?

#1 - cool shot. I've seen lots of similar shots but this manages to be different, I like it.
#2 - I like the general composition but maybe getting down and shooting from level with the cup could pull you in a little more

others - again, the general composition is nice but a lot of them have too much going on in the background. It's especially a challenge when you're using the kit lens, you can't just take the easy way out by shooting f/2.8 and blowing out the background, so you have to just try to angle the shots a little differently to cut down the clutter if possible.

Allowed # of images:
In 'Photo Sharing' section:

You may attach *) maximum of two (2) photos per thread. This means: you may attach up to 2 photos when you start a new thread. You may attach additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.
You may embed **) maximum of eight (8) photos per thread. This means: you may embed up to 8 photos when you start a new thread. You may embed additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post. If photo size exceeds 1024x1024 box, you may not embed it: post a link (URL) to it instead.

I guess if you are embedding them you can post up to 8, but IMHO, realistically this is too many photographs to give honest critique .... But whatever.... Carry on..

:)
