Adding Gels - Storage Solutions?

So, I just added one more flash to my setup and I want to do a little experimenting with gels. To use with my 580 and similar sized flashes, would these do the trick?

More importantly, how can I store them? I've heard that business card holders work well, but I'm planning to attach them to flash via velcro (which would make them significantly thicker). I think I saw something on here about someone using a planner/pocket calendar, and putting velcro strips along the edges. Or...something to that extent.

Anything a little more compact?

Lot's of people carry gaffer's tape, so they just use that. Then you don't have to buy velcro straps or attach velcro to your flash's head.

I already have velcro on my flash heads for other reasons, so putting it on the gels make sense to me (for both security and speed).

If you get the FXtra, you wouldn't need to attach velcro to the gels. The FXtra would attach to the velcro already on your flash, and it has a built-in pocket to hold all the extra gels. Think of it as a all-in-one holder and storage solution.

Well that's nifty - the one trick is that I'm hoping on gelling multiple lights, which would probably mean I would need more than one of these gizmos, right?

Yeah, that's right. I've already bought the UltraStraps, but I haven't gotten around to buying the FXtras yet. The salesman at the store actually talked me out of it and told me just to use tape . You have to appreciate that kind of honesty.

Those rubber bracelets that were popular for social causes are a perfect fit, you can tuck the gel under it on each end.

You could easily DIY something like the LumiQuest holder using some clear plastic, like paper sleeves that go in binders.

That would allow you to store the gels more compactly

For which flashes? I think I can pick up one of those at Radioshack for a dollar or two.

Thanks so much for the links! The downside I see with both the acrylic mount and the gutter contraption are that they are clunky - they won't lie flat. Nevertheless, it gives me a few ideas!
