If I were in your shoes, I'd sell the 7D and be happy. I read somewhere (here?) that the 60D is better at handling noise because it was newer. No clue if it's true.

Thanks again - I think I will keep the 60D, in fact I just ordered a grip so it will even feel that little bit more how I'm used to.

Funny I really thought it would swing the other way - again thank you you've all been very helpful, before posting I really was in two minds, now watch the classifieds!

I'm with the others; if you're happier with the results or simply getting good results easier out of the 60D, keep it and sell the 7D. Only reason for keeping the 7 would for a feature that you need and the 60D doesn't provide; but since you're comparing the two, I'm guessing that isn't an issue here.

I have more keepers with my 60d over the 50d but virtually 90% of my shots are BIF or AI Servo shots and I thought my L tele would raise the keeper rate higher but not so much...
My tracking technique is up to snuff but the 50D/60D AF system misses too many of the shots I really want. Like you, sure I've had cracking shots, just not enough.

So I'll be upgrading to the 7D later in the year or its MkII when I have the extra loot for either.

But its interesting about your test results, and I see a thread how 'banding' with the 7D is 'normal' and there are usually noise issue threads but I have not really read them.

As to what I shoot I do some wildlife/BiF, but mostly its family shots which given the speed a toddler can move are pretty similar... but... I have had some cracking shots such as this lot, so the 60D is not lacking, I just end up throwing more images away.

Hmn, now I've not seen any banding (thankfully), but I suspect as I grow into the 60D I may well look to the 7D II come the end of next year, presuming the improvements over the 7D warrant it of course.

Yesterday I took the opportunity to use the video; had my 50mm 1.4 since it was indoors and the lighting was minimal. I was unsure what to expect as this was the first time I have used the video on the 60D. Last night I plugged the cables into my 55” HD TV; I was blown away at the quality of the imagery, detail and overall performance.
