Windows updated automatically last night and now some of my most used programs won't open. For example, firefox, iTunes, WMM, msn.
Anyone had this problem before?

More detail please - what happens when you try to run the programs?

Mine updated last night as well -- no issues.

I run Win 64bit and never had such a problem. But I do use Norton to peridocally check that the Registry does not have "loose ends". Other than physical HD failure, I would bet Registry errors are the biggest weak spot with Windows machines.

Absolutely nothing happens. They simply won't open.
I've tried restoring to a time before the update, but it didn't even have an option to restore prior the update.
I checked for viruses. Non.
I tried uninstalling the updates. Nope. Didn't work.
And I really don't want to have to resolve to using the recovery disc because then I lose everything.

I deleted all the updates , reintalled them and it worked. But it took a few tries. The first few times did nothing.
