Kiddies I Teach in China

Hello, I'm new here...Just an American teaching English in Jinan, China, with a passion for photography. So I just picked up a Canon 50 mm f/1.8 for my 400D, and broke it in during a party class just today. I picked up some fun shots that aren't particularly great to anyone but me, but wanted to share nonetheless.

Any suggestions on processing and composition welcome - this is my first try with a lens other than the kit lens on the 400D!

Pictures should be displaying properly now...Working through the Great Firewall of China is a tremendous pain (have to have windows using and NOT using a proxy connection, plus multiple Flickr pages, while reading how to embed images...Ugh.)

What are you using for white balance settings?

Welcome to POTN.

Correct your white balance to remove the cast. How you do that depends upon the software you are using. So, what software do you use, if any, to post process your photos?

Aside from that, you can get color cast from floors, walls and ceilings, and the lights themselves.

For example, with a a green gym floor, you will get green cast to some degree. In your shots, if the carpet and/or walls are blue, that will show up. How much depends upon conditions.
