Nice shots liza......really good captures. Really bright and clear. Do you shoot these in jpg or RAW?

Thanks! I shoot everything in RAW and use Raw Shooter Essentials. I like it better than DPP or Adobe for sports action shots.

Very nice shots. I have the 85 coming as well as the 135 f2 L. Ordered them specifically for use in Volleyball. Thanks for sharing.

You will LOVE that 85mm! It's perfect for volleyball and basketball. The 135L is on my list for tax time along with the 200L and (maybe) another body.

Was the game during the day? It looks like you have additional lighting due to the sunlight. I struggle with night games in the gym, usually a best of 1/500, ISO 1600 with a 100 F2.

I like number 1. Good shots. At 1600 do you see any noise? I have the rebel and at 1600 iso a couple pictures on the last shoot of volleyball were grainy. I used noise ninja and it helped a great deal. I believe the 20D is a better camera for higher iso settings giving less noise. I may try 800 iso next time and see if I can still get some decent shutter speeds.

Liza, nice shots. Especially like #1 with the timing and overall composition of the photo. Only small point was the missing part of the left shoe. Hope you don't mind but I did a VERY quick PS to add the rest of the shoe and to add a little floor to build a sense of height from the jump serve. I just wish I could serve like that

Thanks for the edit, RedR8! I think it improves the image a great deal. I, too, wish I could serve like that, but those days are long past.

mdm- No, I don't see too much noise at 1600, but I'm using a 20D.

Jnycz - It was a night game. We just got new lighting in the gym which is very, very bright. I can't wait for basketball season to start.
