400d and 550d - same lenses?

Have a 550d and was thinking of getting a 400d as a back up..........do they take the same lenses. I use 50mm 1.8, 55-250, 18-55, and 300mm f.4 IS and 1.4 extender. Thanks

yes, all dslr canons except the 5d and the 1d series will use all canon's ef and ef-s lens.

And the 10D. It too will not take the EF-S lens. But thats a very old body.

Yup..They will fit both EF and EF-S lens.

I still own both cameras, they can use / interchange all EF / EF-S lenses.


Canon 5D3 + Zoom (EF 17-40L, 24-105L & 28-300L, 100-400L II) & Prime (24L II, 85L II, 100L, 135L & 200 f/2.8L II; Zeiss 1,4/35)
Sony α7r + Zeiss 1,8/55 FE
Nikon Coolpix A; Nikon F3 & F100 + Zeiss 1,4/50
