Today (30 June, 2011), I had the pleasure of taking senior photos for Alysa. Since she kindly asked if she could have her friend in a few shots, we decided to take a break from the "traditional" senior photos to take a humorous shot, or two. The perfect prop for a humorous photo? A decommissioned train engine. I told the girls to run... just run. They had no idea what I had in mind. I later revealed the finished product... they loved it.

I think the laughing adds a certain element of mischief, as if they're tempting the train...

Looks like a mid day sun shoot. ND filter?

It was more like a mid-day mostly cloudy shoot with just enough breaks in the cloud cover to make for a great background (behind me were some dark storm clouds that would eventually bring the outdoor portion of the shoot to an end). Though the sun was shining through when this particular shot was taken, the sky was able to come through because of the strobe I had to help balance the sun. To help further, I was using a daylight-balanced bulb. At this point in the shoot, the sky was absolutely perfect. Plenty of blue with some puffy cloud goodness!
