Windows 7 drivers for Ixus V?

I've been struggling for a couple days to find the right drivers for my old Canon Ixus V for my new laptop. I have the original CD, but Windows 7 doesn't seem to like the drivers on there. I downloaded a Zoom Browser update from the Canon website, but that didn't really do anything. The laptop recognizes that the camera is plugged in, but it can't find the drivers, either on the computer or online.

Any ideas? Is it not going to work at all? Maybe time to upgrade...

Seth

What do you need the drivers for? If it is just to copy images, I might just switch to a memory card reader. Those are universal.

Yes, it's just for copying images. Good point. The only problem it's a CF card, so I guess I'll need to get an actual card reader, rather than using the one in the laptop.

So you're pretty sure there aren't drivers for Windows 7?

Go to Canon's support website and check for the drivers for your model. Although I don't know why you'd need them, buy a card reader as tkbslc suggested. Look HERE (external link)

Thanks Jimmy, for the welcome too.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Windows 7 doesn't recognize it straight away. My Mac doesn't either. Probably something to do with these older implementations of the USB firmware on the cameras.

They don't really have the drivers for Windows 7 on the Canon website (already looked), so I'll just need to get a card reader I guess.

Thanks for the link!

Well the IXUS V came out 10 years ago, so things like this start to happen.
