thanks. that would be great. while you are at it, can you do some comparative shots taken at infinity as well? at f2.8 and f4 respectively for each lens to be more specific. I'm not really concerned much about the performance for macro use but for telephoto. also, can you evaluate the OS usefulness and how many stop advantage for handheld shots?

You mean shoot the living **** out of it? Yeah, I think I can manage that. I fub'd my order went standard vs two day. It's already in the ship cycle so I can't change it. Should be here by end of week though.

I'm sort of glad that the 150 is getting so much attention. I'm going to put mine up for sale. A great lens but I never use it.

That's what happened with my 135L, but I'm thinking the OS and macro capability will make the 150 OS more useful...

Not for me. I don't need a a non macro lens in that focal range and since I need/use a macro lens a few times/year, it doesn't matter, to me, what other features, such as OS, it has.

great. I just wanted to make sure that the additional cost for the new lens is all worth it. be waiting for your in-depth review and image comparisons. ;)

Lens is sitting on the truck at the local UPS depot. Mr Brown Shorts usually drops between 3-5pm.

Why? Do you have a large dog or something?

I got the lens Friday and have posted some shots already in Flickr:

I have found you can use both Sigma and Canon teleconverters on the lens. Even though the 2X makes it an f5.6 lens, mine will only manual focus with the 2X TCs. On my 7D it will only AF if already close to being in focus without any TC on it. My 1D4 works fine in AF with the lens and the 1.4 TC, but manual focus with the 2X.

Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Thanks for the samples. I sold off the Canon 100mm macro USM a while back. Now I am thinking about getting back to another macro lens. Still not sure I need image stabilizer or not. This lens will definitely be on the list.

Still learning
