I'd asked for advice here a couple of weeks ago cause I've never been to a racetrack or photographed motorcycles. All the advice was good and I survived and had a great time. I've only got a 70-200 and the marshalls restricted where I was allowed to go for safety reasons, which was fair enough since I was new to it all.
My first attempt at panning too.

thankyou for looking and commenting. It was loads of fun, I've tried panning dogs but it's much harder because different parts of their bodies are moving in different directions. At least with the bikes it's only the wheels that turn. I found the results much better and it really captures that sense of movement, and wow did those girls move! I tried shutter speeds ranging from 1/3200th right down to 1/80th. The whole day was a great learning experience for me with my 7D which I love even more now.

No.5 (blue yamaha) has to be the best of the bunch for me. You caught the sense of speed and body language of the rider very well. Good shot!

The blue yamaha rider is my friend, she's the one I went to see ride. :) I like that photo too.
