A couple of pics from Botany Bay - Australia today.
A very photogenic sport.

Oct 18, 2005 07:59 | #7 I know it's well built (i.e. quite heavy!) - do you know how it compares to Canon 70-200 (f4 and f2.8)? Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy

Croasdail making stuff up More info | Oct 20, 2005 07:17 | #13 Choderboy - nice shots. I was up in Milwaukee a couple of weeks ago and took some shots of some kite boarders on the lake, but had no idea how to approach it. It was at sunset and they were too far out for my 70-200 which was the biggest lens I had with me, so I went for shots with the kite in frame too. I can see that up tight works much better. Cheers - not bad shooting for having used a "slower" focusing lens.... looks like you made the best of it. Imagine if you had a canon....... ah.. I will leave it alone...

Oct 20, 2005 08:43 | #14 Actually these were all taken from the beach. General pattern for kiteboarders is to "tack" back and forth from the shore , usually doing more of their tricks closer to the shore where the water is smoother. I often have to zoom OUT with the 70-200! Dave
