Hello,

First time posting in this section. :)

Shot this while we were on vacation together. Kinda like it. Was considering possibly giving it to them as a gift (framed and all). I played with it in Lightroom and PS but my PP skills are limited to say the least. It was shot as JPEG so I realize that lowers the PP possibilities a bit. Lower image is the original so feel free to play with it.
What do you think?
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

First one looks OK. The kid in the green shirt has his eyes closed but I'm sure mom & dad will love it. The second one seems a bit OOF. Go with the first one.

I see what you mean, but how do I make that happen? I know it can be done in post but its probably beyond my abilities.

Did you crop that first picture? You said 1 & 2 were the same picture so I'm assuming you did. You can layer one ontop of the other and erase what you don't want from the top layer (If you like the waves on the top layer then erase the family, if you like the family on the top layer then erase the Background).

As CameraMan says, the process is easy enough with layers. But both images have to be cropped the same.

I would be very happy getting the first one as a gift just the way it is.

The second one looks a little too red-ish (especially the skin tone). Kind of has the "we just spent the whole day outside before this shoot" look.

Thank you, Flo. Makes me feel a lot better. :)

Terry, the second one is SOOC JPEG and yes, we spent a whole day outside before this was shot.
