Anyone else watching the tour de france? Great first day of riding out there. Some surprises, some crashes, and great timed finish. Looking forward to the team time trial tomorrow in Stage 2.

Is this a "I am there" thread? or "I saw online" thread?

I don't think that's allowed.

How was the coverage? Did they just show you highlights or you were literally watching the entire stage? With NBC sports Live coverage internet streaming, it is pretty good. Full coverage. Last year Versus was lame. They didn't get the rights to include the ambient sounds on the race. All you could hear was the commentator.

It was pretty decent but now that you mention it i dont remember hearing ambient sound except for very small amounts of it. Sucks because you dont hear the riders talking or much of the bikes. They did put up doses of information on the riders would be put in there as well. Overall it was a good production. Guess NBC still has the ambient sound production. Did you watch all of stage one or are you still going through it?

I went out and did a 73 miles today with the meetup group. Something about over 5k ft climbing. I am only now watching stage 1.
