Have you experienced photographing a grand tour previously ?

In case shooting grand tour is requirement to say you don't find those photos anything special, then yes, I have covered few of TdF and Giro races as well as several World championships, other Protour races and numerous a bit lower ranked races. And yes I agree, that these photos are nothing all that special.

well my point being is that most folks here truly don't understand what it takes to shoot at a grand tour level when most post photos from a local club race.

Most photographers at grand tours dont have motorbike access so they drive themselves around. To drive and take photos is hard. Furthermore, if you end up in an area where the sky is harsh and looks blown out you can't help it if u need to take that shot. There are alot of factors involved when a photographer had to take that photo in the aforementioned link.

Maybe you could enlighten us with some of your work of special images from previous tours ?

I agree things are a whole lot different on top level races as they are for lower category races. Sure you get photos of top riders, but limitations are so much bigger then on local races, that it's pretty hard to do something different. But it's still possible ;)
Unfortunately I can't show you my work. When I was covering those two races (TdF and Giro), I had different sort of deal then I normally do, so I don't own those photos, but agency I worked for does. So I don't have those photos even in my archive, and even less somewhere on web. So no links... sorry. But you can still find them somewhere on web or newspapers ;)
