Well the day came, today was my once in a lifetime opportunity to fly in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Avro Lancaster Bomber. I awoke to sun & blue skies but a layer of cloud and haze soon moved in. It's late and I could write a book but bed beckons. I can sum up the flight by saying it's like nothing I've ever experienced! I'm still in awe, especially with the incredibly low pass over Toronto Island Airport runway. We flew over at a height of 30'-50' and it was insane rush!
The CWHM crew were inviting and offered us every opportunity to experience the flight from various locations. Seat-belted only for take-off & landing, I spent the rest of the flight in the rear turret (but my height limited my view) or up in the cockpit area. I shot stills and a little video with the 7D. My plan is to edit some video along with a selection of stills, but that will have to wait until the winter when I have some spare time.
Here's a selection of shots from my most fabulous day, and some additional shots can be seen at HERE![]()

Upon request from the Toronto Island Airport control tower, we flew a low pass along the length of the Island runway. Low being 30'-50' off the ground! Incredible flying skill and what a rush!
