I've decided that my 18mm was wide enough for me so I've decided to choose a fisheye lens to play with.

I noticed this lens is one of the cheapest but in terms of IQ, is it worth it or better off getting something else. This is just something for me to play around with and mess with so I figure $300 wasn't bad to play with. And if I like it then I'll do more pics with it.

I just got this lens a week ago. Haven't really messed with it much yet, just a few shots in the house and such, but it looks like fun. Post some pics up when you get it. The price is affordable and it's very fishy on a crop like mine.

I hesitated for some time before buying this lens. This lens opens more possibilities than many other lenses that I own. My version is for Nikon cameras and with the Nikon to EOS chipped adapter I get twice the use out of it. The 8mm Rokinon (Samyang) lens on the Canon T2i produces some interesting videos also. Here's a photo taken at the Highlands Hammock State Park in Florida earlier this year using the Canon.

Its just cheaper then most fisheye lens. Im afraid that it would feel like a cheap build. But the IQ looks sweet in that picture.

After handling the lens (Vivitar) in a camera store, one of the things that impressed me was the nice build quality.

Thats good. I don't expect it to be built like a tank but I don't want it to feel like a slight tap will break it.

I think I'll pick one up next week. I would have to get it online since local stores near me does not carry it.

I'm fixing to sell mine if anyone is interested. I love the lens, but just switched to full frame so can't use it anymore.

Guess I got beat to it.

I'll wait until I get some more points on my hotel stay to get some amazon gift cards to get this lens.
I did some more research and found more pics and they look nice and sharp. Not as sharp as more expensive ones at 100% crop but not enough sharpness to justify the cost difference.
