I am looking over a upgrade from my old strap as came across Black Rapid as the great strap. Love the idea of having large compartment of the RS-5, but RS-sport seems to be a cool stuff as well. Kinda in Dilemma of whether RS-5 or RS-Sport......

Another issue that came into my mind is that the inconveniences of changing lens with BR strap..... I am kinda changing lens very frequent, would love to have some feedbacks from you guys, whether is that very not convenient or how....

Else, I might looking back to a Lowepro Voyager S as my favourite neck strap......

I just received my rs7 and love it. I emailed BR and asked about the sport. They said other than some extra padding, the sport is basically the same as their other straps with a "brad" added. So My suggestion would be to get the rs-5 so you get the storage, then add a "brad" if you need/want more support.

I just got y Rs-7 yesterday. LOVE it! I was considering the sport but I think it'd be too much of a hassle to get the strap on and off...

Also, I just realized that the "brad" is called "brad" because of brad PITT. I thought that was funny.

I had the RS5 but found it too bulky and switched to the RSsport and never looked back.

I used the RS5 to hold some things like batteries, business cards, energy bars, phone, pen but again I felt it was too bulky. I didn't have the BRAD attachment so I would find it slide forward often.

Switching into the RSsport was so easy and gave a natural feel to the shape of the back-to-shoulder-to-chest as well as having the built in BRAD attachment. I was so used to grabbing the RS5 and sliding it back into position but with the BRAD on the RSsport there is no movement whatsoever.

Granted, you can also have the RS5 w/ BRAD for similar stability but again, I chose to do away with it because of the bulkiness. Either way, I'm confident you will enjoy whichever strap you decide to get.

When I first started looking a Black Rapid for which model suited me best, I was able to compare all the models in person on a trip to B&H. Out of the all the models, I felt the Sport provided the best comfort and stability...I still feel the same after using it now for a few months. I initially thought the BR-5 had nice features with all the pockets, but think this tade-off makes it a bit too bulky for my purposes.

As far as the ability to change lenses with a Black Rapid, I feel the strap has greater hands free stability over other straps allowing you to drop the body down along your hip freeing your hands to grab lenses, remove/replace caps and hoods. I never worry about the camera falling off my shoulder when my hands are filled with other gear.

Well, with the BR strap you can't just hang the body in front of your chest like you can a regular neck strap, which frees up both your hands. When changing lenses with the BR you have to think of it as having no strap; holding the body with 1 hand and changing lenses with your other. So if you're used to a neck strap, this will be a little something to get used to.

After couples of reading the articles on the BR Strap, I am kinda looking into RS-Sport rather than the RS-5... I Just worry on the flexiblility of switching lens over the conventional neckstrap....

I disagree. You can use the "bumper" to hold the camera at your chest and switch out your lens.

oooh, good idea. I had not thought that of that... stupid me. Thanks for the tip!

The camera isnt too heavy when its locked at your chest where it just rotates the whole strap downwards back at your hip? I'll have to try this tomorrow when i wake up.

Great tip! I would never have thought of that too. (Use the bumper to hold the camera at chest level.)

FWIW I used my BR strap for a while. chose to go back to my Domke Gripper strap. I was concerned! The BR method is so easy, and I'm used to it now. I've gone back to using the BR strap and really like it. It's far more comfortable to carry, and I feel much more secure than a common camera strap.

My issue? Strap I bought is the one with the connector behind my shoulder....I wouldn't choose it again.Thought that the "Joey" pack was worth buying. I don't now, because the strap with pouch attached is a pain in a tender spot to store in my camera bag (TT Retro10). So I'm using the strap without Joey pouch and I've put cable ties on the disconnect.

Used to own RS-7 with BRAD, replaced it with Sport and never looked back. Sport is much better designed with incorporated undearm harness (still removable), more comfortable padding and lack of that silly "unclip me" buckle on the back.
What I hated about RS-7 BRAD combination was all those dandling strap ends, the whole construction was on a messy side and so easy to get tangled. W/o BRAD it was okay, except of course that clip on the back that needed some zip ties.

What are you talking about?

I just realized that "Apples" are called "Apples" because of the cereal "Apple Jacks".

...I don't understand why what I said warrants that response. I didn't know that the reason black rapid called the brad - brad - was because they named it after brad pitt because it goes under your arm pit. I found that out recently while reading a review of it. Not everyone may know that.
