Was looking into WPPI and was wondering if any of POTN's members were members of WPPI? And what peoples thoughts were of such. I have been thinking about membership since my wife and I would like to attend the yearly trade show & classes.

I'm a member. To be honest, if I hadn't gotten a free membership I'm not sure I would have joined. To date, the only thing it's given is a little sign I put in my studio that says I'm a member. I was supposed to receive their Rangefinder magazine but haven't gotten one yet. And their Wells Fargo insurance partners didn't give me insurance rates any cheaper then what I already have. I'm sure once I'm enjoying the discounts for WPPI I'll appreciate it, but I wouldn't if I'd paid the $99 to join.

Maybe someone can enlighten me as to what I'm not taking advantage of with my WPPI membership. Even their contests all seem to charge extra to join.

Range Finder is a free scrip.
They roll through Atlanta and try to get folks to sign up. I never saw the need.
NAAP on the other had is great if you get into a Photoshop fix. You can email in a question and a few hours later, have an answer. They also have tons of tuts online.
The discounts are pretty much crap. Amazon beats their prices with discounts often.

You can easily find a coupon code for the trade show (for FREE entry) Pretty much every vendor offers them. Last year I was sent odes rom Visual Arts, WHCC, Queensberry... And half a dozen others. So look for those before you buy next year.

Oh you gotta come to Vegas for the big convention! It's such a great time to connect and network with other photographers and just get pumped up. And since it's Vegas it's pretty affordable! PM or email me when the date gets closer, maybe I can even hook you up with a free hotel room (at the Hilton or Gold Coast).
