Here in Dubai, we have limited option with regards to buying photography equipment. There are ofcourse resellers here who keep limited stock or some items but prices are anywhere between 30-200% higher, so best option is to order online and have the stuff shipped over, which in many instances (90%) costs less.

When it comes to stand one has to struggle to find good quality ones. Recently I had bought a boom d600 online from a POTN member and although it costs the same as its price to ship here there is no other good option so the buy is worth it.

Now I am looking for a stand to go with it. there is an avenger reseller here who has some stock (see attached link) I need feedback so as which stand to go for amongst the available (double the price at B&H) else I'll have to order it online and well its costly or would cost the same but here I can just pick it up.

Please have a look at the following link, if there is none suitable I will order via B&H.

BTW I have searched and searched BOOM standards are as rare as dinos.

I think one of the reasons that you're not getting any more feedback is that the list of stands available to you is *really* limited. Loads of less-than-special aluminum stands, and some stands meant really for video work (overhead stands, etc.)

Depending on how far you're hoping to boom your lights out, the best option might be the steel c-stands. If, however, you're planning on extreme booming...the spread of the legs might not be ideal. That said, given your choices...a steel c-stand and a bunch of sandbags might just be your best bet.

Gul, I'm pretty sure you can order any Avenger stand you choose from Advanced Media.
I've dealt with them a few times. Maybe speak to Dee at Advanced Media, she's usually very helpful.

That said, I don't have the D600, still using Elinchrom boom stands (it's on my list though), so I can't really help you pick.

Yeah I think I will order online one from B&H or adorama,

Dennis if I ask them to order one more me it will be the price of stand + shipping + their overhead.
And like other oplaces here I cabn get probably one more stand or acessory in that price :)

Anyways will check with them maybe they have something better in stock.
