I'm about to go out to do my second e-shoot and would like some advice on which of my following gear I should use.

The first e-shoot, I took one body, the 5D2 and two lenses, 35 and 70-200. It required the changing of lenses several times. It is a tad annoying changing lenses, but since things weren't 'time sensitive', it was okay.

Question is, should I use two bodies, the 5D2 and 50D? And which lenses should I attach to each? It seems like it would be easier. Only issue I have is that I feel the lenses would look better with the 5D2.

What do you others usually do?

For engagement shoots I almost exclusively use my 5d2, I just like it better. If you were only going to bring 2 lenses, I think you chose the right ones. If I were doing it though, I would bring (from your gear list):

5d2
50d
35L
135L
24-70L
70-200L
580ex2

Its a lot of gear, but will allow you a wide range to work with.

It's not a terrible idea. I'd put a wide/normal lens on one body and a telephoto on another. That way if you see another shot you can swing the lens up and take it. I don't think the 5d2 itself will take a nicer picture than a 50d. It would probably only be apparent if you pixel peep or are planning blowing them up billboard size anyway.

Why not get a boda bag or similar that attaches around your waist or wear it around your shoulders. That way you can easily change lens without going to your bag etc.

Also why not get a strap to attach you camera around your shoulders? That way you dont even have to put your camera down to change lens. Eg) Black rapid straps.

As for what lens to take. Take them all. You never know when you will need it. Why limit yourself?

I don't do many e-shoots but when I do I keep it fairly simple:

7d
40d backup
24-70 f/2.8
70-200 f/2.8
10-20
580 flash

I always go with two bodies (5D2 and 50D) and only two lenses; the 35 and 85. For the most part, the 35 stays on the FF and the 85 goes on the crop, but swapping them around as necessary gives me (pretty much) 35, 50, 85, and 135.

And I'm realizing I lied, I actually take a third body; an old Rebel XT with a fisheye just for convenience, but it's small and light and only comes out 3-6 times, but those 3-6 are worth it.
