It was one of those rare UK Summer days where the sun came out...and it was bloody hot. Those of you who use long lenses at tracks in Summer will know the problems that it can cause and the haze was visible on the track from just after 9am!!

Still, the MKIV did rather well...

1. White cars & harsh sunlight are never ideal..(Sigma 70-200 f2.8 DG)

2. Another with the Sigma 70-200....just to prove it works next time someone starts a thread claiming otherwise.

3. The MKIV handles white cars & harsh light so much better than my 7D (Sigma 500 EX f4.5 DG)

4. Another white car.... (Sigma 500 EX f4.5 DG)

5. It's a shame you can't record audio with still shots. (Sigma 500 EX f4.5 DG)

6. Porsche over "Hill Top". (Sigma 500 EX f4.5 DG)

7. A nice Ferrari....not as nice as the 599 California that followed me out of the circuit.

8. At speed on the main straight...no problems for the AutoFocus here..

Nice crisp shots, Geoff. :)

I haven't used a 7D but I like the auto ISO feature on the 1D4 - stick to the s/s & aperture you want and let the camera sort out the ISO to give you it :)

As for heat haze, a lot of mine from Waddington look like crinkle cut crisps on the wings and rotors :(

Mkiv looks to be working very nicely :)

Can't fault any of them, and 6 is spot on, I love that angle at Oulton.

Cheers,

#7 is a nice one I think. Car is leaning, gives good sense of soemthing going on other than going straight. I like it.
