I've gotten some feedback from flickr friends but it's always the same people.
I'd love for some constructive feedback on anything you could possibly see that would improve my photograph!

If you are on flickr I'd really appreciate constructive criticism on other pictures if you have the time!

The image appears to be too green, and an adjustment is needed in the color balance to fix that.

I am concerned that the horizon in the image is in the direct middle, splitting the viewers gaze between the trees and the water, since the water is the main subject I think a different perspective might have been better, one that focused on the water.

Exposure length looks great, subject is always a classic.

Composition is what im starting to focus on now that i've gotten long exposures down, i guess it's evident that i need some work.

i really appreciate the quick feedback too!

I agree, a tad too green.
If you had "image editing ok" turned on in your profile, I could show you the potential in the image color wise.

I can't decide if I like the horizon in the middle. I feel like if you cropped it you'd lose some important parts of the image... It still looks great, but it makes a super hard contrast between water and earth that I'm digging for a second and not liking for another second.

Looking at the rest of your flickr... :)
I feel like this shot would be KILLER if cropped to get the foliage on the top out and changed to a really bold black and white...then printed on metallic paper.. mmm.

Keep on shooting! you seem to have a knack for the long exposures. ;)

I also find that the vertically centered horizon is less than idea. If it were mine I would toy with the idea of cropping about 10 or 15% off the bottom.

As to the green - I wouldn't sweat it. It is a picture in a forest. I have been in a forest before, and they do tend to be green.

Exposure looks pretty good and the image is crisp.

Correcting the green tint and then warming it up produces a much more pleasing image for my tastes. The light coming down thru the trees is really quite nice.

Landscape orientation would also look better IMO.

As Titus said nice and crisp with a different crop.

Having taken the kids for a walk in a woodland area yesterday, where the sun rarely gets through to the floor, it is very green. The light coming through the canopy is green, the moss/ferns are green, the weed on the stream bed is green and there is very little other colour. I think people will be split - some like it as it is and others think it is too green.

I like the exposure and color. The only thing I would change would be to crop the bottom of the picture. I would pick just above the leaf on the rock. And maybe, just maybe, a small crop on the right where the thin tree trunk is.

You've got a nice leading line with the rocks coming into the frame from left to right, they then continue from right to left, and finish going back from left to right up to the tree in the center...nice zig-zag to pull the viewer through the frame. As far as the crop goes, you could crop to a point just above the left-most rock...this will leave the rest of the rocks intact, while still maintaining the zig-zag line into the frame. As far as the color goes, I'd try a color balance adjustment layer and reduce the green by about 20-25. Nice looking scene.

I was always taught never have water running out of the bottom of the image. Seems weird but when you follow the rule your images do look better. Of course the color cast needs to be corrected. What you did right; your horizon is level, the trees are straight and there are no blown holes in the tree canopy.

It's so green that I assume you intended it to be that way. However, I have a personal dislike of the frozen water effect which kills the picture for me.

I agree about the color. It's too green for my taste. I also agree that this may look better in landscape orientation. I like the silky water effect. If you return to this location to try again keeping in mind the above suggestions I think this scene could make a great picture!
