why upgrade to a 7D

is there much benefit to upgrade to a 7D from a t2i for someone who doesnt shoot sports or birds?

i figure i can get $600 or so for my t2i body, and a 7D would cost about $1400-1700 (used or new). does the 7D justify the $800-1100 differential? i know its got the cross-type sensors and better build, but i use the center point on my t2i exclusively (cross type as well).

For what you describe I see no reason to upgrade. Use the money for glass.

No, you're better off buying better lenses.

re: better lens..... i think i am in a good place with my glass right now - there isnt really anything i covet, though occasionally a "want" arises for a 70-200 2.8 II (again, no need at all for what i shoot). maybe the sig 17-50, but thats also a debatable need since i have a tamron (albeit non-VC)

yeah, ive been known to buy stuff i dont really need. and i dont have a built in $ control (aka wife/girlfriend) to answer to

You can always donate the money to POTN.

I won't recommend you to buy anything without first knowing your needs, but then again, you just said that you buy things that you don't really need haha

Stick with what you have, the t2i is a very good camera.

I... LOVE the AF on my 7D and the micro-adjustment (yes, I do use it hehe)

Image quality is about the same, switching to CompactFlash memory did hurt my wallet because I bought a lot of SD cards.

That's about it, do you think it's still worth the investment ?

Sounds like you should stick to your T2i and the money that you were going to spend on the 7D, put that towards a L lens.
