Every neighborhood has one. The really really christian family. You can tell by the yard during december.

OK, so this is the wrong season but it has been lurking on my hard drive for a while now, forgotten till yesterday. I opened it up, and really liked it - I like the crazy cool sky and the fact that the subject is just over the top kitsch. Except for crop, this is straight out of camera - color, luminosity and contrast are all as shot! No fiddling with it was needed.

I am tempted to crop the right, just after the house, but two wise men? And I would miss out on those wonderful burtonesque branches.

What to you think?

I guess it's hard with the huge contrast in colours and lighting ... but Mary and Joseph seem a bit blown out.

As well - just because they have a nativity scene on their front yard does not necessarily make them a "really really christian family" ...

Thank you - yeah, no snow in Irvine!

Yes - they are, in a way, blown. The plastic on their "shawls", as well as some of the robes of the two wise men, was, in fact white. In an 8 bit image, white is 255,255,255. The question is, if something is white, is it called "blown" if it is rendered as such? Who knows, but I do see what you are saying.

I still lean toward cropping - below is a look at that, but again, two wise men? Maybe I will flip the third one and put him on the left.

Oh, and as to the family - yes, they are, you can just ask them! It's all overtheir bumpers, interior walls, and so on and so on and so on!
