600 what? Euros/pounds/dollars/dinars/rupees....? It helps on international forums when you give a clue as to which currency you are talking about...

It's good for beginner, I also start photography with T1i and still use the camera for walk around due to it's light weight. And I believe you will expand your gear with buying 55-250 ($200) if you need longer reach.

This is a very complicated and much debated question, but I would concur, a t1i and nifty fifty would be a good starting point when it is all said and done.

Any of the Rebels, from the XS on up will do.

If you don't plan to shoot video, and if you don't shoot high-speed sports, getting a XS or XSi would leave you with a little extra for saving up on lenses.

Your lens will influence the photo quality more than the camera body.

Thank you. bw!

Rebel series with a 18-55mm zoom kit would be good to learn photography on. ;)

add in a 50mm 1.8 or an 18-55 IS and you are a Canon guy for $600 easy.

The 18-55 is a decent walk around hiking lens but the 50mm is alot faster for indoor sports and also the cheapest and best bang for the buck lens out there.

my gear Canon 7D, Canon 5DMK2, 70-200 f2.8 IS, 50mm f1.8, canon 430 speedlight, canon 17-55 2.8 IS, canon 100mm macro sigma 10-20, Canon 17-85 , 60 cokin filters , 2x telecoverter.

May I ask if you already have the proper photo editing software or do you have a separate budget for that? If not then $600 may not be enough for a camera, lens, and editing software unless you plan to use Gimp or something like that.

DPP/Zoombrowser comes free with the Canon cameras. ;)

I would recommend a used 40D, 50mm 1.8, and the 18-55mm IS kit lens.

If you're lucky enough to buy a used one that comes with the software. If not then you need to find something.
