blackrapid and herringbone handstrap

anyone use this combo with herringbones quickrelease plate? since the qr plate is using the tripod mount screw, is the black rapid fastener secure in the qr plates screw?

The only thing that I see wrong (even if it does work) is that it cripples you when you want to mount your camera to a tripod. Why not just mount the fastener to either an Arca Swiss clamp, as pictured below from this thread:

Since it's a universal mount, I would advise against doing that. The plate can easily twist from the camera itself, not to mention that the black rapid connector can come loose too.

Go get yourself a proper Markins / RRS / Kirk anti-twist plate with strap lug and 1/4" thread. Then if your camera drops to the floor, it's not the plate's fault, but your black rapid connector's ;) kidding eh.
