And this is a crop from the 2nd image, basically putting the eyes near the intersection of 'the rule of thirds'.  Tell me what you think! Does the crop work? I'd try to even that out in post. For composition... it's ok... but nothing really striking. I'd crop with more negative space to really make it dramatic. I'd push it to more of 1/3. I'd also recommending blending your line from where the image ends to the black area. you can patch this or paint with black brush.
