We were walking in a shopping mall, then we reached a part that is still under construction.
Lots of light there, including this one that shines like a beauty dish (I guess) so these are impromptu shots. Turned out pretty well I guess.

And this is a crop from the 2nd image, basically putting the eyes near the intersection of 'the rule of thirds'.

Tell me what you think! Does the crop work?
Image editing OK so please if you would like to do some processing.
Thanks!

Cheers! :D

All of the shots appear to have two basic problems: face is overexposed and OOF. In #2 & #3, the background is a bit distracting.

Very pretty girl though - get he to pose again and do some more shooting!

Well noted Sir.:D
Any thoughts on composition?
Many thanks.

not really sure why her skin looks so smooth on the left side and not on the right? I'd try to even that out in post. For composition... it's ok... but nothing really striking. I'd crop with more negative space to really make it dramatic. Edit includes cropping, background edit, skin smoothing, and color.
see sample:

Thank you Sir.
Actually I have composed another version with more negative space.
Not exactly clear how to do this (aspect ratio, where to put the model in the frame) but somehow I feel that more negative space would enhance the composition.

Actually I didn't do much for the skin except for healing brush on some minor blemishes.
What tool do you find is best for skin smoothing?
Thanks a load.

Cheers! :D

cool, yeah go for more negative space. right now she looks like she's in half of the image... I'd push it to more of 1/3. I'd also recommending blending your line from where the image ends to the black area. you can patch this or paint with black brush. For editing skin you can use patch tool, blur tool, and clone tool in PS.

Ps. I'm a madame not a sir. ;) Guess I didn't really give any indication either way, except my feminine blue humming bird logo?

Well, sorry about that Ma'am. Actually I did a bit of a 'research', I visited your website, looking at the 'Contact' page but didn't find your name or something like that.
I'm Jonathan btw, and once again thanks. I will try blending the image with the background, and work on the skin again.

Cheers! :D

lol... well nice to meet you Jonathan.

Just a note: My name is on the title of my webpage "sherrijphotography" in a tab that says "sherrij" and under contact page "Thanks for your interest in SherriJ Photography!" So yeah, the SherriJ is readily available and there are pictures of me in my "SherriJ" bio section. So hi my name is SherriJ. =)

QUOTED IMAGE

Because the left side is blown out with no skin detail.
