Nice one!!!

I have an ISS lunar transit 16km up the road from me this evening. Wonder if my 10 yr old daughter is up for a boring evening?

Thanks all.

Martyn, hope you caught the lunar transit last night and your daughter doesn't find this as boring as my 5yo ;) BTW... is there a prediction site for the lunar transit or do you just determine it from Heavens Above?

Rick, Yes it does, so this was a 128s exposure... and yes it was moving very fast.

Thanks aaron, but no, my daughter was bored and the moon was hidden behind high thin cloud. We found and stood on the required spot, but could see nothing. Very disappointing, but that's the UK and ISS transits for you :(

THIS PAGE (external link) hosts a java app which enables the transit tracks for any location on earth to be calculated and saved as Google earth files for convenient viewing. One day I am going to get a transit directly over my back garden, on a weekend, when there is no cloud. One day :)

This guy (external link) is the master :)

Nice shot, But the one you really want has to be taken this weekend Saturday night with the ISS crossing the sky & Atlantis coming along behind before they dock on Sunday. You will never get another chance to get that photo again!
Good luck & I'll be watching this space nextweek:D

Here's another link for you

Thanks for the heads up. NASA are expecting the actual docking at 11:06am EDT on Sunday, which I make 15:06 GMT? The Heavens Above (external link) web site give the last pass of the ISS on Saturday evening for the UK as 16:46 GMT, but there is a higher pass at 15:13 GMT. Not sure how visible they will be :)

I managed to get a very shaky picture of Discovery, back in February :) Discovery is the small blur :)

Unless you live in the USA you will not get a shot of the Shuttle chasing the ISS this evening going by the tracking map.
