Great stuff. Wish I could go just to get pictures like that!

It'd cost a fortune from the USA though :(

Nice pics and so close to the action 2 looks very very close a little scary is it true that they let you walk through the fields to get to different corners ? its a meet i want to do myself.

Thanks folks, yep for no. 2 I was no more than 6ft from the bike.
Up in the mountain section of the course you can walk across fields to get to a good vantage point. Elsewhere if you get there early enough there are places where you can sit on the banking at the side of the road, trouble is once racing starts you are stuck there.
If you can then I thoroughly recommend visiting for the TT or the Manx GP (uses the same course but suited to less experienced riders).

Yikes! And that includes crying children, lost camera gear and a 20 hour flight. No thanks. I will simply rely on YOU to provide a great view. Really appreciate the views you provide.

Certainly different to norm, and good for it,some very in your face shots!
Quality could be better in some shots ,but action and compositions make up for it.

Thanks Chris, I know a few are a bit soft, my 50-500 is struggling a bit on the 7D. I have been trying to include a bit more of the surroundings in some shots to give some context to the racing (after reading one of your comments about TT shots indicating the bikes could have been on any circuit as the images were tight in on the rider).
JTX - I am lucky in that it is a short(and relatively cheap) trip by train/ferry and I get free accommodation as my brother lives on the island.
D-PEARCE not sure about crawford1888 (which forum/website is it from) don't think that's me though.
Thanks Lowiekin, if I get time I may post a few more.

I have been in the motorsports business my entire life. Other than F1 at Monaco the Isle of Man TT is the only other race event I will ever attend in retirement. I am absolutely fascinated by it.

Very lucky you are in this regard to get such access to this type of race. I envoy you.

I wish you would share more shots of the event for us over here who will likely never get to go.
