I just bought a 5DM2 back in September and I am happy with it. It does what I need it to do and it also does stuff I don't need it to do (video). I fear the same for the 5DM3. Photographer

I work my camera bodies pretty hard, they do alot of traeling and I find the 1 series just stand up better. I am hoping that this long wait is going to be worth it. I also hope that they make enough changes in it to make it a stand out from the prosumer/5D level cameras. I know the price point will be high but I've always found the quality to be there in this series. My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Jul 07, 2011 11:24 | #8 Quite comfy with the 7d as the working tool, but nearing its 2nd birthday its now high mileage and I'm keen for its replacement to arrive, with the improvements it will inevitably have. The 7d will be kept amongst the growing number of backups. Most Canons currently - 1D(Mks 2&3&4), 7D gripped 50D gripped x2, 40Dgripped x2, 30Dgripped, 20D gripped, 350 gripped, 300. with L lenses

I love it and am entirely satisfied with the results. I never buy each successive upgrade but generally wait for about 3 upgrades before I am willing to switch. For example, I got the original Digital Rebel in 2004 and only upgraded to the 60D 6 years later. So I'm interested to see what new cameras Canon brings out, but I won't be in the market for about another 5 years. Meanwhile, I'll be working on perfecting my techniques with the 60D (action, portrait, multi-wireless strobes, etc.). Hugh

quickben Fairy Gapped More info | 5D3. I always skip an update because usually one step up isn't enough for me. However, in the case of the 5DII, it was enough of an upgrade, but I just didn't have the money until now. But, it would be stupid for me to go out and grab a one before they release the specs and images of the next version. I'm not interested in more mega-pixels, just a better focusing system and up to date exterior. You know, I wouldn't mind if they put a reversible screen on the back. I really liked that feature on my G5 (I still have it !) for some reason. I know a lot of people don't like it on the 60D. Fighting the war against the unnecessary use of the Book Worthy Smiley

Jul 21, 2011 14:39 | #15 A successor to the 5D MKII. MKIII or whatever it ends up being for sure, as soon as I can buy it. Only if it's worthy though. I'm mainly looking to attain great high ISO and Focus under the $2,800 price range that the 5D line has to offer.. DII is nice but its just not worth it's current body price (for me) for my all around uses. MyCanonPhotos
