Thanks Rick. There are some interesting patterns in the chitin. I think the lines are stress marks in the chitin. Not cracked, just the material has become stressed and shows up as these patterns. I'll have to use the polarizer and see what that shows. :)

Thanks Rakesh. I have 6 lenses in the lower turret of the scope, a 2x, 4x, 10x, a 20x and two 40x lenses. Then on top, there are the two eyepieces that are 10x. There is also a trinocular port, a third outlet in the top piece that you mount the camera on. It also holds a lens inside it, and I have a 2.5x inside there now, with a 10x backup. I don't use the 10x much, as the 2.5x is much sharper.

There is a link in my footer with lot's of images of my microscope if you want to look.

So these images were mostly taken with the bottom 10x objective lens, the 2.5x projector lens on the top, then two sets of Kenko tubes stacked up with the Canon T1i on top. I don't know exactly how to add that all up, but using the eyepieces, I can go from 20x to a maximum of 400x. I am also saving up for a 60x lens, which will open up a whole new window I can view. :)
