so what are you now missing from your photos?
a wider range like a zoom?
larger aperture?
longer reach?
more or better "sharpness"?

Would recommend the Canon 17-55mm or the Tamron 17-50mm or the Sigma 17-50mm.

17-50 is really a good range for the T2i's APS-C (22.x mm) sensor.

You could use the 10-22 from canon, it's a lot of fun.

Thank you

I saw a 24-105mm that was having a wide range with high quality photos
I was thinking about it even though I am "covered" with what I have (it's about 1k at the store...ouch)
Also was thinking about an wide lens like a 14mm or so (don't know much about availabilty yet)

I am looking for an addition that will not be a waste of money but improve my shots

What do you think?

If you can't answer watts' questions, I think you may end up wasting your money.

The only sensible reason, IMHO, to buy a lens is to fill a specific need, not to add you one's stock. Yes, better glass can make a difference, but if you don't post images, it is impossible for anyone to know whether the main limitations of your current images are your glass.

I hate it when people just repeat posts but that is exactly what I am doing here. @drogi1, what do you need another lens for? What do you want to do with it? And what is your budget?

Without information like this the two posts above are worthless. Maybe you want to shoot sports. A 17-50 or 10-22 would be no benefit to you.

And what is the "the standard that came with the camers" (sic) ?

I've been looking through alot of the "My next lens purchase" type of post and the one lens that is often overlooked and underrated for APS-C sensor camera is the EFS 15-85. The 17-55 and 10-22 are great lens, used them both before but IMO if you are looking for the most versatile, the best range to cover UWA (15) and medium telephoto (85), and the latest generation of 4 stop IS, solidly built, and with an affordable price, this is the lens to get. The Con is the variable 3.5 - 5.6 but the 4 stop IS and high optics of the lens will result in very high IQ. Please take a look at the reviews for this lens and the new 70-300L lens. They both have variable aperture at different length but that doesn't affect the IQ. Since you also have a 50 1.4, that will serve as your low light lens if needed upon.

you should swap the 75-300mm for the 55-250mm IS

While the Canon 15-85 and Canon 10-22 are a terrific pair, I'm very please with my Canon 17-85 EF-S IS USM and my Sigma 10-20 EX DC HSM f4-5.6 which are much easier on the budget without much sacrifice in image quality. The Sigma is an EF mount too if that is important to you.

Seems like you need a walk around lens IMO.

Money is not an issue: 24-70mm L or the 24-105mm L or the 17-55 f/2.8

Money is an issue: Tamron 17-50 f/2.8

The 85L is a great lens, I'd suggest it.
