Hmmmm....

It is hard to tell without having it in hand. Does it seem that the lack of "secureness" is at the point the QR clamp attaches to the Jr. Bracket?

From the pic on the German site, the base on the Junior Elbow Bracket seems to be simiar to the material on the QR plate. I have found that, if tightened down enough (real tight) it is pretty good at holding (though I have the anti-twist plate on my camera, also).

However, if it still slips/twists at that point, I have a thought which I would try. The base has two, unthreaded holes on either side of the threaded mount. Get two bolts which can JUST be fitted in the holes....tamp 'em in good. Then using a Dremel tool, cut them (leaving a good sharp edge) so they just dig down into the rubber base material. I would think this would hold it pretty secure. Worst case, you can smooth the bolts completely flat and move on to plan 'B'...whatever that is :)

I need to take picks of the FR2...will post this weekend.

I am interested in the Jr. Bracket, so pls post how it goes. One other thing....I have not seen anything on it's dimensions. What is the total length...and the length from the camera mount hole to the 'L'?

John

PS....finally figured out why we were using different nomenclature for the pieces....Bogen distributes Monfrotto in USA and uses their own numbering scheme....had not noticed that you are in UK until now.

I think the lack of secureness is simply because you've added in another plate to clamp interface that isn't protected by anti-twist.

I'll try to get some pictures of the setup, though obviously I'll have to use a different camera to my 20D to do so.
