Still in Lightroom. We've only had time to cull them down. Unfortunately, I wont be able to go through and edit them all for another day or two

Very nice. Counting down the days until we spend a few weeks on Maui and Waikiki. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that gets up in the middle of the night to shoot from the balcony!

Bring your 24-70 and be done with it, enjoy the trip. This is why I am going to get the 24-105 so I can use one lens and still enjoy myself on a trip without worrying about a bunch of gear. To each his own though.

if you are using the 5dII i'd say it's a good choice. i go to maui often and FF plus 24-105L can pretty much do it all, though i also bring 70-200L and 16-35L II and 100-400L sometimes (whales).

I say 35L works well with a 5D. Go for it!

^^Great shots!! :) I know exactly where you were standing for at least 3 of them...can't wait to get back there in November. Also glad it was clear for you up on the crater, last time we were there it was in a cloud.

Unfortunately we dont go on many vacations anymore like we used to but the 2 lenses IMO that really pair good with the 5D MKII are the Zeiss 21/f2.8 ZE & the Canon 70-200/f2.8 MKII for a trip to the Islands whether it be Hawaii or the Caribbean. Of course 1 fast prime that sharpens up at f2 is great to bring along for the early & late shots.

Friend of mine just got back and left all his heavy DSLR gear home and took just his Sony NEX-5 with several of his MF lenses and claimed it was all he needed.

It was always hard for me not to bring at least 3 lenses to cover all possible FL & lighting scenarios when going somewhere on vacation for the 1st time.

Regards, ;)

Honeymoon? I would honestly take an S95 or something.

If not, lose the fast primes for you 2.8 zooms and flash.

We will be going there in a year or so - my future wife has planned photography time into the honeymoon. It's not like you can just go to Hawaii whenever you like to take landscapes.
