60D is the top DSLR, followed by the Nikon D7000 and the 7D. The Canons overall fare very well.

What did they give the advantage to the 60D over the other 2? Specifically the 7D. Ive always taken CR results with lots of grains of salt but sometimes its interesting to know just what they thought was better/more important.

Or it could have won on price per megapixel...

Consumer Reports is NOT the best place to get information, They are pretty darn biased (Especially, in regards to appliances they tend to favor Kenmore products heavily) and also tend to rate on some very ambiguous things..

Thats the consumer reports Ive come to know. Gadgets vs functionality

(*** no the swivel screen isnt completely gadgety as it does have its place/advantages, but does swivel screen outweigh things like a [much] better AF system on the 7D?)

Are Consumer Reports and Ken Rockwell one and the same? :D

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

The 7D is "too expensive" most likely and the 5D Mark II "Has a comparatively poor megapixel to price ratio"

they probably stumbled on that 7D noise thread that was floating around here. that'd turn anyone off to it. we're lucky they even bothered to rate it.

The 7D used to be ranked #1 !

I was shooting fireworks with a tripod last night and I found the flippy screen to be a VERY nice feature ...

I guess price- performance ratio.

CR is not about the best product, but performance your price. Notice 1D4 missing doesn't make it a bad camera.

Anagrams. If you translate the first term to German using Google, then to French, then back to English, you get Corkllew Nek, which is Ken Roxkwell rearranged.

CS is extremely biased...wait didn't somebody already say so ?

Basically, they don't do real testing. Instead they take a survey of their subscribers' opinions. Not the general population, but the people who subscribe to CS. Now since their subscribers usually follow the CS reviews, after a while it turns into sort of self-fulfilling vicious circle. I.e. you have a generation of readers who's been following CS for decades and tend to prefer what CS recommends, and what CS recommends is what its subscribers prefer, based on the surveys.
