Back on topic (for the moment anyway). I've been looking at the Creative Light Stripboxes. They're quite reasonably priced here and for a gridded option, they seem to be the best available.

I remember people talking about them in the last thread but can't seem to remember what the general consensus was. I'm looking at getting 2 for edge lighting and doing easier composite work on grey.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most people that use CL seem to say they're decent quality boxes and certainly great bang for the buck.
Also still on the fence about whether to get the CL strips or man up and get the Chimeras w/ grids.

hmm... reading up a bit on the CL boxes... they spin freely to allow you to reposition the box easily.. unfortunately how are you supposed to remove the box? seems plenty of people have had an issue with this...

You have to open the flaps and hold onto the speedring ;)

Chimera is totally unavailable down here and shipping from B&H will be a **** (+ the higher initial premium).

Ebay or CL for me at the moment.

Go for CL then :)

It's also very cheap here. Not quite as cheap as Eli but almost.
I will probably end up picking up 2 of their strips (the mount is not an issue for me) and replace them with Chimeras at some point.

You guys keep talking about the CL boxes and you're going to get me into trouble when I drop money on a pair of CL 30x120 strips with grids.

Whatever you do, don't speak to Martin about strips with grids.

I asked some questions and he never got back :(
he responded the first time I asked if they were still for sale.

Grats, you should save faster and buy now.

zerovision wrote in post #12827602 (external link)
Also, are the softboxes that come in the kit very good?

I think they are small, but im a Eli noob and a rookie in general.

Strips with Grids. 30 x 120. I like the sound of that, count me in.

Max lite is on back order in the UK.

I'm 99% sure it's not compaitable. That's one of the features of the RX line.

Oooh, we might have 2 for Aus, 4 for the UK, 4 for the US.

Go Pi, work your salesman like magic on the CL folks.
