There's a check in place that keeps Mike's post counts from ever crossing over to 5K as long as his current avatar is in use. LOL  ;)

You might want to ask him exactly how he came by that avatar image ....

PS: I happen to like that image of Bunhead.

Speaking of flame throwing monsters, any one had a problem using the small reflector and grids on a bigger head?
There only about 10mm of clearance between the modeling light and the grid. Could be heat issues?

Wow, I feel like a noobie in noobie land here.

BTW, I been doing my pushups and eating my Wheaties so I can lift my pole up and down with ease.

Wait, that didn't come out exactly right.

Hi Moppie. I use the 7" reflector with grids and I almost never use the modeling lights once I have things setup.

Yep. In other fun retail news, I ordered an Avenger A4039CS from B&H in the middle of April, and I still don't have it. My assistant ordered one in November and got his in May. Yet B&H still has "usually ships in 7-14 days"

Drives me bonkers!!!

Hope those quotes worked.

Anyway, I've been basically a dyed in the wool B&H buyer for years, though I have on occasion purchased from Adorama. I've also emailed back and forth over the years multiple times with both Henry and Helen.

However, in all honesty, I have to say that when something is backordered or says 7-14 days, Adorama is so quick in shipping it seems as if it wasn't really out of stock to begin with.

The Setti which is constantly out of stock or back ordered, came withing a couple of days of the time I placed the order with Adorama. And they don't charge your card until they ship, another nicety.

I guess I've been lucky. Any time I've ordered something from B&H that indicated it usually ships in 7 to 14 days, it did in fact ship within 2 weeks and many times much sooner.

+1. The 7" grids seem to get dangerously warm if you leave the modeling light on.

Woohoo new thread, Dave, the old thread will always stand proud with that finale.

Nice shot Kemzo, was the dish gridded? I like the bg pattern.

A few exciting bits of news for me. My BH order (the big list of doodads) has all been shipped and should (fingers crossed) be here by Friday.

Also, I placed my order with our local Elinchrom supplier and now have 2 x 600RX (with the skyport RX set), 70cm Baby Deep Octa, 2 x Wide Angle Umbrella Reflectors and a 2.75m roll of thundergrey seamless coming for Friday.
