Taiwan, ha. I laugh at Taiwan. Try somewhere really dangerous.....with no rules - India.

Thats crazy, but then again they have no rules. Belgium is suppose to have Police enforcing some sort of traffic rules, just somehow never see them doing a thing.

I have to give big credit to canon! I went today to their actual service center 5 miles from my house, for an issue I've been experiencing since I got my 1Ds Mark-III... A friend of mine wanted me to exchange my 1Ds Mark-III for his 1D Mark-IV, so he was checking my camera and notice that the LCD display on the top part of the camera is not coming on instantly when powered on... It'll take about 2-3 seconds before it comes on and that is not normal??? I thought it's normal and so the deal didn't go through but I had it in the back of my mind that my camera is faulty or a big problem is coming up. So that's why I took it today to check it out... The rep. At the front desk said that its normal because the camera has to do the auto sensor cleaning first, but I insist! And said that my friend had used 4 of these cameras before, so he's a sort of expert at it, so he took the camera inside to an actual pro and Japanese for that matter and within three minutes, they both came out and the front desk rep. Is now saying that yes there is a problem??? And the problem is your CF card??? So I gave them a sandisk extreme III card and tried it and it's working flawlessly. The problem is, I bought this camera with that memory card and I never thought of changing it... It's a 16GB transcend CF card. I was just thinking that if this was an auto dealership or mechanic, I'll be buying a new motor or transmission. Lol.
So at the end, I requested a full checkup and censor cleaning for a $32 fee. It's an hour job, so you can wait... But I left it with them because I had to go to work, I'll pick it up tomorrow morning.

I was also joking when i started it... but if i can accomplish a financial turn-around i'd be down.

Can someone give me the size specs for a 39" deep ? I'm guessing its 39" across the tip, how deep is it? tried searching the thread but the word deep comes out way too often in our conversations for some reason.

36" flat to flat, 39" point to point, 23.5" deep (counting speedring).

On another topic... when the heck is Elinchrom going to release the WiFi transceivers for the RX strobes and packs? I have the App on my iPhone with no one for it to talk to... :(

I was going to ask Brendan to find out when he goes to Switzerland. It's not like it'll be out before he goes in 2012 :D

In the meantime, you could always just pretend to change some magical settings in front of your clients using the Demo version
That's what the Indian immigration peeps do when their system is down. Just type some random stuff on a dead keyboard and pretend it's working, the passenger can't see it anyway :) (for real, I've seen it ;) )
