LoL when I was student I did not own anything that was worth £500.

I know, sometimes feel a bit weird that I do have my own equipment (most people borrow it from uni on strict 24h loans only). But then again I don't wear SuperDry (or TopShop), I don't go clubbing etc. A guy in my course managed to work up £1.5k debt by xmas by just going out all the time. :/

I have been looking at either the 70-200 f4L or the 200 2.8L...

Both great lenses and relatively cheap to boot.

My 100mm should be sold tomorow, its gotten me great photos, its just not my kind of lens :( For portraits only i'd grab the 200 2.8, but i wanna carry the 70-200 for some landscapes as well... sooo hmmm... When i used to have the 17-40 & 70-200, it was a dream landscape combo :D

Man, if you weren't stuck in Aus, id be looking at your 1ds2 about now. After the last dud i think im gonna haggle a local store that had one in the used dep, see what they can offer me. I definitely want to get my hands on one.

100mm Macro? I was contemplating one for beauty, but I'm more interested in the 135. I don't shoot landscape, I barely shoot anything except for fashion/portraiture/beauty. My 1DsII is exceptional, < 15,000 shots on the first shutter.

I'm also considering the 105mm macro. :)

Lols, betcha Dave is sleeping with his MKIV as we speak.

Hugging his Mark IV, rocking up and back slowly, and whimpering softly. Yet another boatload of crap Coolpixes? I just can't believe it.

The P7100 might be nice but other than that.... eh.. nothing of interest.

Saving money is a marathon, not a sprint.

Thats true. Most of the things I have are either presents or saving money for long time. I can't afford to spontaneously buy expensive gear.

Most people can't. That's why they use credit cards.

Unfortunately, many people spend well above their means and it comes back to bite them in the rear end.

I'm a big believer in buying what you can afford, meaning there is cash in the bank. :D

Same. I always spend only as much as I have. I do have credit card, but its only because some shops accept credit cards only (e.g. B&Hphoto if you live outside US).

Still waiting for salary so I can buy the Maxi Lite and deflector set. :)

Amen to that, Robert!

I do use my credit card to pay for just about everything but that's just so I can hold on to my money a little longer (I haven't paid interest on my CC in ages, though). And also so that I can accumulate CC points for free stuff (I have a 32" Sony flat-screen TV and a Les Paul electric guitar which I got for free with my CC points). :D

Exactly, Leo. I use my credit card but only when there's something to back it up. I don't deplete my bank account and then start buying on credit. That gets ugly real fast.

Credit card debt is a very nasty thing. :D

Not sure if any one is interested but "The Flash centre" in the UK, has two rare elinchrom modifiers for sale. They are the Elinchrom Sphero 60 Softlight (external link). Two hundred sterling each.

Some of you seem to be obsessed slightly with modifiers :).
