I would recommend that anyone that's going to take retouching seriously should have a Wacom Intuos 3 or 4. I also suggest not getting the small one. It always seems like a good idea and you can map it to your screen, etc. but it's just not as nice as having the larger models. You don't need the large and you don't need the Contiq, but a nice sized, full featured stylus and tablet really make a difference.

I don't think there is a definitive answer as to whether the small or large one is the correct choice. It really boils down to whether a person prefers to draw or make edits with small finger/wrist movements or more sweeping arm motions.

I find that the small tablet suits my personal drawing style much better, and I enjoy the economy of motion that a smaller tablet area allows.

Obviously, Pi with his fine motor skills is going to need to choose something more along these lines.

What are you talking about, Mike. You've already lost your identity. Everybody thinks that face on your avatar is you! LOL :D
You might lose your dignity next, if you haven't lost that already, too. ;)

Off topic: be aware that with Amazon's UI update, if you have your credit card information stored with them, they can apparently insta-charge you for amazon prime if you click the wrong button accidentally. :-/

Side note, isn't it amazing how companies can debit your account instantly, but it magically takes 3-5 business days to credit your account?

Amazon website desperately needs help so I'm glad it's coming. Seriously having to enter CC details just to see how much shipping is going to cost?

I disagree. Well, I'm not that serious about retouching, but I think that A6 is large enough and anything bigger makes hand movements to cumbersome. There's the image zoom function to do detail work.

We'll have to disagree then. I find that the medium is far better and the movements are nothing to even worry about. It's definitely a personal preference.

Most people I know that did get the small one didn't like it as much as the medium and just about every digital retoucher I know is using the medium.

I'm sure it also has a lot to do with how much time you spend with your tablet.

If you're using it for a few hours a day or more I think most people really appreciate the larger tablet.

BUT.... to each his or her own. :D

Maybe it's just because of where you are, but I always see the shipping rates right there on the item. Don't even have to add it to my cart.

Looks like my Quadra has found a buyer after about a weeks time, and I'll be selling it end of the week.
Seems lots of people were put off by it being the old non-RX. Screw those brighter LEDs ;)

Last Elinchrom light gone. Plenty of softboxes to keep me in this thread though ;)

Glad for you that it worked out. They probably thought it was the modelling light LED that was changed, when in fact only the display LEDs were.
