Thanks guys, yes i'm liking it so far though it seems like a gateway drug, everything else seems flimsy now.

My concerns are when the light stand is lowered, theres over 30+pounds up there (counting the d600, the light, modifier & counter-weight) if my sweaty hands slip at any point it would all come crashing down pretty hard.

Pst, my poop is just fine Martin, thanks for worrying about me.

Mike. You're the only person I've ever known to have broken a C stand. It's one of those things that just doesn't happen..

Not my fault. The damn thing had no instructions. The base is what got messed up. I opened two legs at once..... I thought one was locked in.

Something about this photo reminds me of another photo I've seen recently.

Dont worry about it...... I stuffed my tights that day.

More OT stuff. I landed my first commercial gig for people only no cars in the shots :D . It is for one picture on a banner on a website  Pretty small potatoes, but I am now a legit double threat.

Is the Sekonic 758 a massive upgrade from the 358? I currently have a 358 but there's a 758 on the forums ridiculously cheap. I'd be out maybe $100 in the upgrade.

It's only a massive upgrade if the added features make a difference to you. In terms of metering light there's no difference. The L-758DR has the built in 1 degree spot meter, 3 camera positions, ability to create profiles, built in PW transmitter, offsets for each camera position in addition to global calibration adjustment.

If none of those features matter then it's just a bigger meter that doesn't offer you anything. If those features are of some importance then it's a great meter that's feature rich and should last you a lifetime.
